Starting with a single seed in 2016, The Norristown Project started our urban garden to become a learning experience for our youth and community! The urban garden is located at Montgomery County OIC and is maintained year-round by children in OIC’s youth programs.

The garden is also in partnership with Greener Partners, whose mission is to educate people of all ages about the origins of their food, and how to grow, cook and eat healthfully. TNP also received donations from Edible Forrest, Feed the Burbs, and Montgomery County Conservation District.

Each week, our garden serves families with free vegetables straight from our garden. We have no income guidelines or restrictions, the vegetables are available to anyone in the community at a first come first serve basis.

Our goal moving forward is to expand our presence and the number of families we serve each year. If you are interested in joining our mission, email
