Who we are
The Norristown Project (TNP) is a volunteer-based organization located in Norristown, Pennsylvania. The program was created by life-long resident Shae Ashe who was fed up with all the complaints and negative stories coming from a town he takes pride in. To address the problems Norristown faces, Shae became proactive by coming up with ways to fix those problems with a smile on his face and with volunteers who shared the same passion. The project launched as a campaign on Indiegogo, and then by May, the first community project was hosted. From there, the rest is history!
What we do
TNP focuses on creating community projects pitched by residents to improve on an area. The main focus of our organization is to cleanup Norristown. Each week during the summer, we will host a new cleanup project in an area that faces deteriorating conditions. We then organize a group of residents who wish to volunteer and spend 3-4 hours cleaning up a block or neighborhood. We remove graffiti, pick up debris, clean up public parks, and more! Also, TNP actively seeks to work with the youth of Norristown to encourage them to have pride in a town they call home. The Norristown Project works closely with NYDC and students from local high schools to create projects they would like to see and give them the assistance needed to succeed.
2014 Art Project!
The Norristown Project announced a very special project coming to Norristown this spring. After many requests to do a project that will highlight Norristown’s growing arts community, we have decided to move forward on one of those ideas. Beginning this spring, we will begin a waste can decoration project in the community! If you are interested in participating, please email email@example.com.
