Montgomery County Department of Public Safety has posted a flood watch for Norristown. This will most likely continue into tomorrow as much of the snow will continue to melt. Remember, turn around, don’t drown! See the official release below:
A Flood Watch is in effect for Montgomery County from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon.
The National Weather Service is forecasting the Schuylkill River will reach minor flood stage in Norristown at 2 a.m. Thursday and crest at 13.9 feet at about 6 a.m.
Montgomery County is expected to get 1 to 1-¼ inches of rain throughout the day Wednesday. Snow pack that is melting quickly will add the equivalent of another 1 to 2 inches of rain to area streams.
Flooding is possible in small streams and creeks, as well as low-lying areas and those with poor drainage
