Returning for the holiday season is the annual Toys for Tots Program at Montgomery County OIC in Norristown. Each year, OIC serves approximately 300 families in Montgomery County in need of toys for the holiday season. Their program is furnished by the Marines Toys for Tots program which is a national organization that services communities in need. This year, OIC will open its doors for families who wish to receive toys for their children for Christmas.
On Friday, December 18th, 2015 from 5:00pm – 7:30pm, parents may arrive at 1101 Arch Street in Norristown to fill out a form and receive their toys that night. OIC has served families all season and has a limited amount remaining for the families arriving on the 18th. There is no guarantee that there will be toys remaining closer to the end of the event. It is encouraged that you arrive early, families will be served at 5pm sharp.
While waiting, OIC will provide holiday treats, music and a cooking demonstration by Greener Partners. We will share more information shortly about Greener Partners and how they are looking to change the way we get groceries in Norristown. A representative from Montgomery County Community College will also be in attendance to enroll people in their Office Certificate class coming to OIC. There are many things to do while you wait!
Remember, December 18th from 5-7:30pm, limited option will be available. If you received your toys from another Toys for Tots center or served by another agency for the holiday, you are not eligible to participate. Toys for Tots does not allow for families to be served more than once. For more information about the Toys for Tots day, you can call 610-279-9700 or visit their website. OIC is the lead agency of the Norristown Project.
